“Connect”| Solo documentary by Lilya Kichigina
Connect is a 2023 award-winning short documentary. It is a spontaneous project that exceeded everyone’s expectations, even mine. Through the story of a lesbian woman navigating love, loneliness, and self-discovery, this documentary reflects on what it means to truly be happy.
Filmed entirely in a candid, observational style in 10 days from talent seeking to render, it captures raw, authentic moments that delve into the story of Anne-Marie.
Connect has been officially selected at eight film festivals and has won six awards, including Best Director and Best Cinematography at the Lights Canberra Action Festival.

NeonHoney — Chasing Shadows music video
Dive into the captivating realm of NeonHoney, the Canberra-based Songstress and Multi-instrumentalist whose musical artistry is a fusion of ethereal writing and vibrant compositions.
About the project:
Chantelle (NeonHoney) have found an abandoned house which we could use for filming and we planned the video concept around it. After one pre-shoot visit to the location, getting help with bringing the real piano into the house and setting the lights amidst cobwebs and possum litter on cold August evening we’ve managed to capture the absolute gem reflecting the very essence of Neonhoney’s vibe.
Vuche — Everything (official visualiser)
VUCHE is a Nigerian Australian singer whose music blends the vibrant rhythms of Afro-pop with the soulful melodies of Inspirational R& B.
About the project:
Vuche reached out to me with a request to complete a music video pre-production and production in one week, as she’s from Brisbane and was flying back in a week’s time. Without wasting time we set off to onboarding meeting, set two filming half-days, quick pre-production next day, and we’re out on set. Perfect timing, nice Canberra locations, post-production and this clip is what came out after.
